What is Cooperathon?
Cooperathon it’s the platform for the creation of impact entrepreneurs and the largest open innovation challenge in Canada.
We connect citizens, communities, entrepreneurs, researchers, academics & large institutions to develop, together, a socially responsible and sustainable future.
Cooperathon’s 6-week training program includes:
- Workshops led by renowned experts and, moreover, with multiple educational resources in the entrepreneurial field.
- Leveraging scientific and technological innovations for the success of ambitious entrepreneurs.
- Support from a network of exceptional mentors, from multiple provinces of Canada, and subject-matter experts from different industries.
- A Pitch Competition in front of a jury made up of renown ecosystem players from the best incubators and accelerators in Canada.

2 types of participants & their journey
Any citizen who wants to get involved and have a positive impact on society:
Students, young graduates, professionals, managers, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, technical experts, scientists… experts from all fields. Cooperathon is open to all profiles!
Alpha Team:
Aspiring entrepreneur
They are individuals at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey, with or without an initial idea nor a functional prototype at the time of registration. They will form teams and work on a prototype to tackle a social, environmental or economic challenge proposed by our Open Innovation partners.
Alpha Teams are in the ideation phase and during the Cooperathon will better understand the needs of customers, identify their value proposition, imagine the business model, prototype their solution and prepare their project pitch.
Journey
Alpha Teams will follow a 3-sprint training journey for aspiring entrepreneurs. The main goal of the Alpha journey is to create, as a team, a conceptual or functional prototype.

Bêta Startup :
Startup in development
They are startups in the development phase of their solution, with a functional prototype and in pre-commercialization. Beta Startups are made up of a minimum of two people and can be incorporated or not.
During the journey, these startups will have 3 personalized meetings with experts that will focus on validating their business model, validating their prototype with future users, validating their pitch and preparing for the start of their commercialization and growth phase.

Composed of 3 tailored meetings, this short dedicated journey for Beta Startups will allow them to shape and fine-tune their existing solution, in order to tackle a challenge proposed by our Open Innovation partners with the highest possible impact.

C’EST QUOI UN MENTOR ?
Les mentors peuvent être des experts (expert en design thinking, expert métier, expert domaine) , des entrepreneurs ou des coach entrepreneuriaux.
Les profils les plus recherchés sont :
- Experts design thinking
- Experts métier (Finance, Agriculture, Manufacture, Energie, Santé, etc.)
- Experts domaine (AI, UX, Comportement client, Impact, Innovation sociale, Economie circulaire, Climat, Marketing digital, Stratégies de vente, Financement, etc.)
- Entrepreneurs
- Coach entrepreneurs
- Ces mentors auront un minimum de 3 ans expérience dans leur spécialité, avec un focus sur les mentors expérimentés (10 ans +)
- Ils seront de partout au Canada, avec un focus sur Québec et Ontario. Ils pourront même être internationaux, tenant compte que le program est virtuel.
RÔLE DES MENTORS
Les mentors auront le rôle de donner du feedback sur le travail accomplit aux équipes participantes aux Coopérathon, Alpha (phase ideation) & Bêta (phase développement).
Les équipes partageront les livrables réalisés lors du Coopérathon, à chaque sprint, et recevront un feedback constructif sur leur travail, avec le but de l’améliorer pour pouvoir imaginer des solutions uniques, à valeur ajoutée et à impact grandissant dans une perspective d’appuyer le pré-démarrage des startups avec les valeurs du « triple bottom line » : People, Planet, Prosperity.
PARCOURS ATTENDU
Les mentors seront appelés de contribuer 2h par semaine, pendant la période du Coopérathon, du 2 octobre au 30 octobre 2021. Certaines activités de préparation pré-lancement auront lieu dans la période 28 septembre au 1er octobre 2021. Ils seront jumelés avec une équipe en particulier ou un groupe des équipes ou, encore, ils participeront à des séances de mentorat rapide avec une multitude des équipes.
DESCRIPTIF DU PARCOURS
Le processus des activités des mentors :
- Application de candidature via le formulaire en ligne
- Vérification candidature, par l’équipe Coopérathon
- Confirmation acceptation comme mentor, par l’équipe Coopérathon
- Invitation Séance Information Mentors (26 août 2021 et 16-25 septembre), facultative
- Invitation onboarding session (28 septembre – 1er octobre), obligatoire
- Invitation séance matchmaking équipes (28 septembre – 1er octobre), obligatoire pour les mentors sélectionnés pour un mentorat 1 x 1
- Invitation séance de formation bulles des mentors (28 septembre – 1er octobre), obligatoire pour le smentors sélectionnés pour un mentorat de groupe, avec suivi de plusieurs équipes
- Rencontres de suivis pendant le Coopérathon (30min, avec l’équipe du Cooperathon), facultatives
- Rencontres de mentorat avec les équipes (1h30-2h, par semaine)
- Rencontre de feedback – fin Coopérathon (Janvier 2022, 1h, facultative)
- Prix Reconnaissance mentors – Gala de clôture du Coopérathon, (1er décembre 2021, facultative)
