Background
Visitor reception has evolved significantly over the years, from a predominantly human interaction to an increasingly digitized experience. This transformation is due to a number of factors, including the rise of digital technologies and the changing expectations of visitors and customers.
- Digitization and online information: In recent years, hospitality has been profoundly altered by the advent of the web and smartphones. Visitors are increasingly using online resources to find out about destinations and services on offer, sometimes reducing the need for on-site interaction.
- Influence of social networks: Social networks have become a major source of inspiration and recommendation for visitors. Users turn to influencers and online reviews to plan their visits and choose organizations.
- Workforce: The scarcity of labor and the transformation of Quebec’s job market require us to rethink the use of technology to support existing employees, while preserving their jobs.
- Real-time information: To offer relevant recommendations and enhance the visitor experience in real time, it is essential to integrate external data that can refine suggestions based on visitors’ location and preferences. By using dynamic data, the organization can offer a personalized experience tailored to visitors’ immediate needs.

Solution scope
Examples of sought-after solutions:
- Artificial intelligence: AI enables advanced personalization of services, real-time analysis of customer data and continuous improvement of the welcome and visitor experience thanks to advanced technologies.
- Immersive experiences: This immersive approach aims to create memorable and engaging experiences from the moment visitors arrive at a destination or organization.
- Use of external data: To offer relevant recommendations, it’s crucial to integrate external data such as weather conditions, road traffic, public transport and more. This information can be used to refine recommendations and improve the visitor experience in real time, depending on the organization.
- Access to dynamic information: Today’s visitors are looking for real-time information, tailored to their location and preferences. The focus should be on delivering a personalized visitor experience, using dynamic data to ensure recommendations are relevant.
- The senses: The sensory experience is at the heart of tomorrow’s visitor. We no longer consume to “have”, but to “be”; we prefer to enjoy goods and the present moment, rather than possess them. Increasingly accustomed to great experiences, visitors expect even more emotions, with all their senses stimulated. Consumers have a strong need for experiences that appeal to all their senses.
